Expand App in Family Sharing (Apple Devices)

Modified on Thu, 28 Aug at 5:38 PM

Family Sharing is a feature provided by Apple that allows you to share purchases, including apps, music, and subscriptions with members of your Apple Family group. This means that when one family member purchases the Expand App, others in the group can access it without having to purchase it again.

How It Works

To use Family Sharing with the Expand App, you must first set up a Family group in your Apple account. The person who creates the group becomes the Family Organizer and can invite up to five additional family members. Once Family Sharing is enabled, purchases such as the Expand App are automatically shared with the other family members.

When another family member goes to download the Expand App through the App Store, they will see a notification that the app has already been purchased by someone in their Family group. At that point, they can download it at no additional cost.

Important Notes

  • Family Sharing is an Apple feature and is fully managed through your Apple account.

  • Each family member must have their own Apple ID and be added to the same Family group.

  • Family Sharing must be turned on in the Family Organizer’s Apple account for sharing to work.

  • Only purchases eligible under Apple’s Family Sharing program will be shared.
